Layering Your Summer Pieces For Winter

20151101_mad_factor0612

Can’t wear some of your summer pieces for winter because they’re spaghetti straps and sleeveless? Well now you can wear those pieces by simply layering a basic turtleneck underneath and just throw on a jacket. I paired this vintage black jumpsuit I’ve had for awhile with a white turtleneck underneath and sneakers for a casual look, which can easily be dressed up with heels and a lace turtleneck. What do you think of this trend? Have styling questions? Message me & shop my look below! -De

The Essential Piece to Dress Up Your Look

image

The essential piece every woman needs in her closet is her blazer. They can be worn as jackets, dresses (when oversized), and to simply dress up any casual look. Here I paired my oversized blazer from the HM Studio collection over a simple grey denim & high-neck crop combo with black thigh high boots. The blazer ultimately completes an outfit. Shop my look below! -De

It’s all about not over doing it. I believe that less is more when getting dressed. Yeah, you don’t want to look like a basic B, but you can still look like a “cool” basic B with the right pieces. All you need is a basic top, basic bottoms, and a cool belt paired with some boots. Shop some of my favorite basic pieces below! -De

Denim on Denim

image

Yes, you can wear the Canadian tuxedo now. Denim on denim is a major trend this season, aside from fringe. The 70s are a major come back for spring and I’m not mad about it. I really love the denim on denim look and think anyone can pull it off (not just Rihanna). The rule is you have to make sure your top and bottom are similar in color. Go with all darker denim or all light wash denim. You either match or you don’t. Let me know what you guys think about this trend! Shop my similar look below! – De

Dress Down Your Knit

DSC_0118

In my recent post: Dress Up Your Knit, I styled this Zara sweater with a Topshop metallic skirt. This week we are dressing down the knit. If you live in Chicago or somewhere that is starting to get 10 degrees already, you’ll want to be wearing a sweater at all times. I love this sweater because not only is it so stylish, but it keeps me so warm! I paired the knit with my black skinny jeans that I cut holes in, and my HM camel coat. Big knits look good with any skinny bottom and booties for a casual look. And did I mention my cool stiletto nails by Static Nails?  Yea, better get your nails did for the holidays and these are so easy to put on and pop off when you forget to paint your nails. Did I mention they are also reusable?! Check out the nails, where you can get my look, and other similar looks below! -De (Happy Thanksgiving!)
